Melbourne

Melbourne is one of Australia’s largest cities with close to 5 million inhabitants and the southernmost city in the world with more than one million inhabitants. It is the state capital of Victoria and is famous for its unbeatable lifestyle and its many sporting events. It is home to the Australian Open in tennis, the Australian Formula One Grand Prix and the birthplace of Aussie rules football.

In addition to its historic city centre, Melbourne also sports excellent shopping, restaurants, cafés and theatres and several top-class museums and other tourist attractions, such as the Melbourne Aquarium, the Melbourne Zoo and the Werribee Open Range Zoo. Around the city are also the Phillip Island Penguin Parade, the Great Ocean Road with its twelve apostles, the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary and the Yarra Valley wine district.
